I. Loneliness isn’t merely a feeling, it’s an actual spiritual ache.
You can be in a relationship, in a crowd, even married, and still feel alone. Deep down, we all crave a connection we were never meant to find in people alone. That is because that gap was shaped for God.
II. The world’s version of love leaves you empty.
We chase affection, romance, even lust, hoping it’ll fill the void (we’ve all heard this before). But what begins with excitement often ends in guilt or silence. Sin offers fast comfort, but not lasting peace. God’s love is the only one that satisfies.
III. God defines love, and He defines boundaries.
We don’t get to redefine morality to suit our desires. Real, satisfying love is found in living within His design not breaking it. His commands aren’t to limit us, because they protect what’s sacred.
IV. Marriage is indeed a gift, but not your identity.
Not everyone marries. Not everyone stays married. And that doesn’t make anyone less valuable. A relationship status ought not to be tied to worth but in the One who chose you long before anyone else could.
V. The love you need has already been offered.
Jesus proved love, He doesn’t just talk about it. On the cross, in your mess, for your soul. It’s funny how we notice only so late that the love we’ve been chasing has been chasing us all along.
1 Prompt
So…. where have you been looking for love, identity, or comfort apart from God? Pause. Repent. And genuinely ask Him to let His love fill what other people, other things never could.
