I. Overcoming the world isn’t just escaping it and its schemes.
Merely isolating ouselves is not a solution, rather resistance is. The world is always pressing in, through pressure, praise, or shortcuts. You overcome it not by hiding, but by standing firm, we talked about this a few of weeks ago.
II. When the world threatens, don’t flinch.
If you live for Christ, expect the world to frown. It may mock your values, question your sanity, or try to cancel your convictions. We ought not to be afraid of its frowns.
III. But also when it flatters, don’t fall.
Praise can be more dangerous than persecution. Flattery makes you comfortable, and comfort tempts you to compromise. Remember, faithfulness is proven in quiet obedience.
IV. Shortcuts will always show up.
When you’re hurting, stuck, or tired, the world will offer easier ways out, just a little compromise, a little silence, a little less boldness. True strength & affirmations that “I’ll wait on God, even though…” is what counts.
V. Victory doesn’t always look loud.
Sometimes, overcoming the world looks like quiet faithfulness. The world doesn’t often not notice it. But know that Heaven does, and there’s power in consistency.
1 Prompt
Are you facing pressure, through criticism, comfort, or shortcuts? Choose one area where you’ve been tempted to yield. Then decide that you’ll do the opposite. Stand.
